Are Flu Shots Really Needed?

Published by sybille at 12:16 am under Medical Edit This

It’s that time of year. Where colds, sniffles, coughs and the dreaded flu abound. Especially are the elderly warned to get their flu shot or they could die. And now…get this… the warning has included children and even teenagers. Evidence points to the fact that flu shots can actually do more harm than good. “How is that?”

Do flu shots really work? Not if the strain you are being vaccinated for doesn’t materialize. And that is so often the case. In 2004, the flu vaccine did not contain the flu strain for that year and thousands of people fell ill with the flu. In the Lancet, it was revealed that there is no correlation between getting the flu shot and reducing the risk of pneumonia. Children between two to six years did not get the protective effect from a flu vaccine than had they have gotten from a placebo according to Cochrane Database of Systematic Reviews .

The heavy metal mercury is in flu vaccines and this can produce side effects ranging from depression, memory loss, ADD, anger and glandular imbalances to name a few. Antibiotics are also added to the flu vaccine to rid it from stray bacteria. All of us are aware how antibiotics can lower the immune system and multiply Candida growth. After all, we are told to eat yogurt when needing a round of antibiotics.

Polysorbate 80, an emulsifier, is also in vaccines and this can seriously damage the reproductive organs according to PubMed.Gov . Are you willing to have your daughter or granddaughter voluntarily submit to a flu vaccine, knowing how high infertility rates have become?

Studies have implied that individuals who received the flu vaccine for three to five years had a greater chance of developing Alzheimer’s due to the aluminum and formaldehyde combined with mercury in each vaccine preparation. That seems a bit scary in itself.

Are flu shots necessary? No. The potential side effects speak for themselves. But…there are ways you can help yourself ward of the flu. Some of these are:

  1. Increase your exposure to sunshine and if that is impossible, take Vitamin D3.
  2. You heard it said - “Exercise, exercise and exercise some more.”
  3. Eat plenty of immune boosting foods such as garlic, fresh fruits and fresh vegetables.
  4. Eliminate sugar as it suppresses the immune system and can cause diseases.
  5. Stress can be a killer and coupled with anger the immune system is compromised. Incorporate yoga, meditation, counseling, therapy sessions and medicines derived from plants to attain a healthy mind and body.
  6. That elusive sleep. Aim for at least seven to eight hours of sleep to build up your immune system. Life becomes less hectic when one isn’t so tired.

Should you get a flu shot? It’s a Catch-22 whether the right flu strain is in that needle. But then, you will have to decide for yourself. In the meantime, arm yourself with sunshine, exercise, healthy foods, no sugar, less stress and plenty of sleep. Doing that may be all that is needed for you to escape another flu season in good health.
